This short entry today is intended to reach people who might be interested in a herbal learning group, a new Facebook group, one that is geared to the more serious student of herbalism – and specifically with an emphasis on dogs and cats.

Most of my readers know my background – I have been studying and passionate about herbal medicine since the mid-eighties, when a particularly challenging UTI was cleared up – and stayed gone – with the help of uva ursi, echinacea and some gentle demulcent teas – I went into a health food store in downtown Toronto as a last resort, and was blown away by the knowledge and professionalism of the staff, but most of all by the results. Many of my fellow herbies will know exactly what I mean when I say, that once that door swung open there was no going back – I was besotted with the world of herbalism and set about to learn everything I could.

Flash forward…40 years later and I have trained extensively, as well as worked professionally with dogs as a focus, since 2001 – my fascination and dedication to herbal medicine has only increased over time.

I teach a full certificate course online – https://thepossiblecanine.com/practical-herbalism-an-online-course/  – and write regularly on this blog, my Newsletter and Business Page, about herbs as well as canine nutrition, and have found a much greater interest overall in nutrition, from a social media standpoint.  Many owners like to use some herbs, especially the popular “Herbs of Commerce” such as Slippery elm, Milk thistle, Chamomile and more, but are wary of wild weeds (Dandelion, Burdock, Motherwort, Agrimony, Bee Balm, Plantain and so many more) – my aim in this new group, as well as an upcoming short course, is to help those with interest but no access to learning beyond Herbs of Commerce, can find support and knowledge to broaden their experience of working with herbs.

I’ve always believed in Herbalism as The Medicine of the People, and feel that education should be affordable. This group, the herbal learning group, is not a course, and it won’t make you a practitioner, ready to work with clients, but it WILL help you greatly to understand how herbal medicine works, it will provide educational materials for complete beginners as well as those who have give further along in their studies;

I will be available during business hours to discuss anything needed, from info on the practice of herbalism to individual cases – herb selection and dosing, means of delivery, duration of treatment and more.

Join the Herbal Learning Group

For a limited time, the fee for lifetime access to this unique herbal learning group is $45.00 Canadian. The link to join is included in the write up here:  https://thepossiblecanine.com/herbal-learning-group-for-dogs-cats/

I’m looking forward to lively discussions, and adding recipes, monographs, educational topics and much more – and look forward to supporting your own herbal journey, for your dog, cat and of course, yourself.
